In Macbeth, we see a reoccurring theme of fair vs foul. It's a motif in the book that we see in the beginning line from the main character Macbeth, "So foul and fair a day I have not seen." Then, from the point where Macbeth meets the three witches on, Macbeth deals with the consequences of being either a fair, or a foul person.
It's important to concentrate on this particular theme because it's an idea having everything to do with the plot of the story, particularly in relation to Macbeth. In order for Macbeth to achieve his destiny, he does foul deeds like murdering Duncan. In other cases, he avoids his destiny by doing foul things like trying to kill Fleance. But because he chose the foul approach instead of the fair, the fairness came back to bite him in the butt. For example, when Macbeth killed Duncan, he became an unhappy king, and he eventually died because he killed Duncan. I suppose the main point in the story was that foulness only leads to a person's demise, and one should always choose fair.

Macbeth quote
"They hailed him father to a line of kings. Upon my yea they placed a fruitless crown and put a barren scepter in my grip, thence to be wrenched with an unlineal hand, no son of mine succeeding." (pg. 85)
This quote is relevant to the plot of Macbeth and also the whole motif of destiny, and how you achieve destiny. Basically, Macbeth is ranting about the fact that Banquo's children will be kings and queens however, Macbeth's children will not. And so he's saying that how can he really be THE king if his children won't be kings. And also that all of his hard work will be given to somebody else, when he intended it for his kids.
The way that this quote fits into the plot is through the killing of Banquo and the attempted killing of Banquo's son. This jealousy over Banquo led to the killing, and the proclamation for revenge by Banquo. If Macbeth hadn't killed Banquo, there wouldn't have been a need to seek revenge on Macbeth. So, Macbeth is trying to run from his destiny, but may end up fueling it by the final scene.

Free Post: My Spring Break
Overall, my spring break was pretty good. I got out of school on Thursday and rode a bus to Orlando. The band was going to Disney World and the Universal Studios theme park. I wasn't too excited for this trip because I'm deathly afraid of drops in roller coasters. Disney World has a lot of roller coasters, and Universal especially has a lot of big roller coasters, so there were quite a couple I didn't ride. But, there was a lot of stuff that I could ride and it made things a lot more fun.
When I came home from Orlando, I was pretty relieved. I mean four days in theme parks can just get kind of exhausting. I was already making plans and such, then I woke up the next day with a sore throat and a tremendous amount of pressure in my ears. I made the best of my situation and watched a bunch of House episodes, which are always entertaining. When I finally felt better on Sunday, going bike riding on the Mississippi River levee was a good choice. The beginning of spring was taking effect on the trees and grass, and so wildflowers were blooming and it was just a pretty day overall.
P.S. The worst thing about roller coasters with drops are the pictures afterwards where they took a picture of your terrified, but hilarious face and then make it possible for your siblings to see it.

Two Statements, 4 and 8
4. Who we are--our essential character and temperament--is fixed and unchangeable.
I strongly disagree with this, humans change all the time based on their past conditions. I've changed as I've grown up to become more and more hardworking as my parents have raised me to be like. I think in Macbeth, he changes from a honest gentlemen into a backstabbing subordinate, because he had an experience with the three witches.
8. If something is destined to happen, it will happen without your interference. I agree, sometimes we think we need to interfere and it happens because we interfere, but when it was told to happen, whoever said it would happen knew that the person would interfere to make it come true, so in a way, we do let it happen. In Macbeth, I think that the fact that he's interfering is him letting it happen to him. I let things happen very often, when Christmas comes around, I know I'm going to get morning presents, but I don't exactly strongly hint to my parents that we need to have presents on Christmas day or anything.

Moving
The snapping of lowly tree branches as you swiftly move through them,
their texture allowing you to gain footing as you meander along your way.
Walking, and only if you could, look up the mountain
you could see the sun shining with it's infinite rays.
Then, climbing can you see the land underneath your feet,
where auburn, amber, and crimson colors spread with variety among the heat.

"I'll Be" Edwin McCain
http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/edwinmccain/illbe.html
This song is very euphonic when read like a usual love song, this creates an atmosphere of comfort. Also, the phrase "I'll be" is pronounced multiple times representing an anaphora. There's also a part, where theres more cacophony in order to show the more aggressive and mean things he's been feeling. Whenever he says, "And rain falls angry on the tin roof," he uses personification with the rain.
Again with the euphony, it gives the audience a feeling of comfort. Especially in, "And emeralds from mountains thrust towards the sky
Never revealing their depth.
Tell me that we belong together,
Dress it up with the trappings of love." The speaker is a man in love that hasn't quite been officially in a relationship with the girl he's talking to. The occasion is the speaker confessing his love for the girl and telling her how great of a boyfriend he could be. The audience intended by the speaker must have been the girl he's in love with, and to tell her he's in love with her. Overall, this song is just a love son with a euphonic tone bringing comfort.
